Edo 2016: Peaceful, issue-based campaigns are vital

-
The forthcoming September 10, 2016 governorship election in Edo State is one of the seven off-cycle elections in Nigeria. Other states with a similar fate are Anambra, Ekiti, Osun, Ondo, Bayelsa and Kogi. The reasons for this phenomenon are twofold. The first was as a result of judicial verdict arising from proved allegations of stolen mandate at the election petitions tribunals against the Peoples Democratic Party in Anambra, Edo, Ekiti, Ondo and Osun states. Second, the January 27, 2012 Supreme Court decision on the tenure elongation suit of five governors who won re-run elections after their initial victories had been annulled by the election tribunals. Automatic Teller Machines: A Revolution and its Pains

On March 15, 2010, Consumer Protection Council (CPC) held a Consumer Interactive Forum in Abuja. At the forum, Mr. Chris Chukwu, the Deputy Director, Financial Policy and Regulation Department of the Central Bank of Nigeria who stood in for the CBN Governor said Automatic Teller Machine fraud is among the leading complaints coming to the apex bank. My Odyssey It is not the height a man attains that count but also the depth from which he has risen – A Sage Appreciation Wow! I have lived for 1,200 days, 50 solid years. That’s big deal man! In a fragile state like Nigeria where things are gradually turning to Hobbesian state of nature where life is short, brutish and nasty, to live to see one’s golden jubilee is a big deal. In 2016 I lost a sibling, Tolulope Brimah nee Ojo, to the cold hands of death. She was just 40 years old. Last year, we lost Dr. Bankole Ogundeji (Banky) of the Covenant University. We were classmate at the University of Ibadan, but he’s no more. That am alive to witness this day is simply by the mercy and grace of the Almighty God. Early life I was born on Monday, April 28, 1969 to the family of Deacon I.O Ojo, a teacher and Mrs. G.M Ojo, a trader.   Though born and bred in Ibadan, my parents are both from Osun State. My dad, of blessed memory, was from Ile-Ogbo, headquarters of Ayedire Local Go...
